Frequently asked questions
Are Swedish certified translations accepted by German authorities (Standesamt, Bürgeramt)?+
Yes. Both Sweden and Germany are members of the Hague Apostille Convention — the translation only needs to be supplemented with an apostille from Notarius Publicus (alternatively MFA), not embassy legalization. German Standesamt and Bürgeramt consistently accept this chain for Swedish personal documents.
Do I need a German "beeidigter Übersetzer" or is Swedish authorised enough?+
It depends on the authority. For use within Sweden or for EU procedures, Swedish authorisation suffices. For use before German courts (Gericht), a locally sworn German translator may be required — contact us and we will help you decide. We collaborate with German beeidigte Übersetzer for court matters.
Do you translate Handelsregisterauszug and Swedish company registration certificates?+
Yes. Company documents are one of our most common German translation jobs — Swedish certificates from Bolagsverket into German for branch registration, distribution agreements and banking. We have German translators specialised in legal and commercial law terminology.
What does German translation cost?+
From 495 SEK ex VAT per document. German and English have the same pricing because there is a relatively large pool of authorised German translators in Sweden. Longer documents are priced per word — we provide a fixed quote before starting.
