DOX handles the entire application via the Angolan Embassy in Stockholm: document review, translations (required for some categories), submission, yellow fever vaccination coordination and secure passport handling.

Do Swedish citizens need an Angola visa?

For tourist trips UP TO 30 DAYS — no. Since 2023 Swedish citizens are visa-free in Angola for short tourist visits, a major simplification compared to previous rules.

For trips LONGER than 30 days, or if you intend to work, do business (company formation, contract negotiations), study or transit more than 5 days — YES, a visa is required, applied for at the Angolan Embassy in Stockholm.

DOX handles all visa types. The most common question is "is visa-free entry enough for my trip?" — we help you decide based on purpose, length of stay and whether you plan work or business activity.

Visa-free stay — 30 days

Since March 2023 Angola grants Swedish citizens 30 visa-free days for tourism. This is one of the biggest rule shifts of the past decade and significantly simplifies travel — but the following requirements apply:

  • passport valid at least 6 months past entry date
  • at least two empty pages in passport
  • return ticket (or onward) within 30 days
  • yellow fever vaccination certificate (Yellow Card) — checked at entry
  • hotel booking or invitation
  • proof of sufficient funds (~$200 USD/day recommended)
  • tourism only — no work, study or business meetings

Want to stay longer than 30 days? You CANNOT extend visa-free stay locally — you must apply for a tourist visa before departure. If you discover the need to extend on-site, you must leave the country and apply for a new visa from Sweden.
