Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between "traductor jurado" and a Swedish authorised translator?+
A "traductor jurado" is the Spanish-local equivalent — appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAEC). For documents used in Sweden or within the EU a Swedish authorised translator is sufficient. For use before Spanish authorities (Registro Civil, Notario, court) a traductor jurado may be required — we arrange via partners in Madrid and Barcelona when needed.
Is a Swedish translation sufficient for NIE application and empadronamiento in Spain?+
Yes — Spain is a Hague member. Swedish certified translation + apostille from Notarius Publicus (or MFA) is accepted by the Spanish police for NIE and the municipality for empadronamiento. We handle the entire chain in 5–10 working days.
Do you translate for Mexico, Argentina and other Latin American countries?+
Yes. Latin American countries generally accept European Spanish translation since it follows the same MAEC-recognised standard (Kammarkollegiet follows the same standard). Some countries (Argentina, Chile, Mexico) are Hague members and accept apostille. Others (Bolivia, Dominican Republic) require embassy legalization — we handle both.
What does Spanish translation cost?+
From 495 SEK ex VAT for a standard document. We have multiple authorised Spanish translators and the pricing is competitive.
