Processing time for Serbia
The complete legalization chain for Serbia typically takes around 3-5 working days from the moment we receive your originals until they are ready for return delivery. The timeline is mainly determined by the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs' apostille queue.
What we can do is run every step in parallel where possible — notarized documents go to UD immediately, and as soon as UD is finished we submit them to the apostille service the same day. You receive automatic status updates by email every time your case moves forward.
Need it faster? Contact us before ordering — for urgent Serbia cases we can sometimes offer express handling at Embassy of Serbia in Stockholm for an additional fee.
Cost for Serbia
Legalization for Serbia starts at 800 SEK for a single private document. The price covers the entire chain — notarization at Notarius Publicus, verification by the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and apostille.
Multi-document orders qualify for our bundle pricing and typically come out cheaper per document. Company documents from Bolagsverket and Skatteverket don't need notarization and follow a separate price list.
All prices include VAT and outlays paid on your behalf to authorities. There are no hidden fees — you see the final amount before payment.
Get exact price for Serbia →Why Serbia only requires apostille
Serbia is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention of 1961. This means Swedish documents only need a single apostille stamp from the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs to be recognized as authentic in Serbia — no embassy step is required.
Apostille is faster and cheaper than the full embassy chain non-Hague countries require. Private documents (birth certificates, marriage certificates, education diplomas etc.) still need to be notarized by Notarius Publicus first, but company documents from Bolagsverket and Skatteverket go directly to UD for apostille.
Always check with the recipient in Serbia whether they require a certified translation in addition to the apostille — this is a separate step we can also handle for you.
