Authorized Translation

Authorized translations are performed by translators approved by Kammarkollegiet and are legally valid for use with authorities in Sweden and abroad.

What is authorized translation?

An authorized translation is a translation performed by a translator authorized by Kammarkollegiet. The translator certifies that the translation is correct and complete, and places their official stamp on the document.

Authorized translations are often required when documents are to be used with authorities, courts, universities, or other official bodies - both in Sweden and abroad.

After translation, the document can be legalized by Notarius Publicus, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the embassy of the country where it will be used.

  • Marriage certificates and prenuptial agreements
